Meet Us…
Shane Stratton, Owner
If you call the Stratton Exteriors number, you’ll probably get owner Shane Stratton on the phone. In business for himself since 2006, he’s earned Stratton Exteriors’ reputation as Nashville’s best home remodeling company both by being compulsively hands-on and doing great work every single time. Our customers count on Shane to assess what needs to be done to make their homes safer, more efficient, more beautiful and functional. And he’s known city wide for providing fair rates and completing projects quickly. He’s also kind—the sort of guy you’d want to grab a cup of coffee with—and he brings that integrity with him to every job site.
The main reason Shane does his job so well? He loves it.
“We really care about the homes we work on,” says Shane. “And we care about the people who own them. If you call me three years from now, I’m going to remember who you are and exactly what we did for you.”
Shane now lives in East Nashville, but he was raised in small-town Sturgis, Kentucky, where he helped his grandfather fix up rental properties and worked summers for a friend’s father doing construction. Right away remodeling work was a natural fit for Shane. He got to work with his hands, come up with creative solutions, and see very real results. These are the same reasons he enjoys the construction and remodeling industry today.
“I love being able to help people make their dreams a reality,” says Shane. “I like that no two days are identical for me, and that I get to see jobs completed from start to finish. What I do is tangible, and that’s gratifying. There are a lot of negative connotations about the construction industry, but good quality companies like Stratton Exteriors are going a long way to change people’s minds.”
Shane holds a communications degree from Murray State University and an interior design degree from Sullivan University. Out of college, he began work for a remodeling company but grew weary of the big-business model. He wanted to work for a company that really cared about its clients and employees and not just the bottom line; so he started his own, founding Stratton Exteriors in 2006. Stratton Exteriors originally specialized in windows, siding, and gutters, but in recent years our expertise and focus has expanded to include decks and garages, porches and carports, and full bath and kitchen remodels, among other capabilities.
When Shane’s not stomping around on one of our customer’s roofs, he can usually be found running or cycling, whether participating in a cyclo-cross race or pushing himself to knock out personal goals. He also has a passion for old homes, which he only lives in long enough to painstakingly renovate and restore before reselling. And, most important of all, he is the proud father of 10-year-old Isabella.
